One of the many reasons we take our Convention to different cities each year is that we hope to make an impact on different regions with our presence. This year we have decided to partner with a local non-profit in New Orleans called the St. Bernard Project.
About the St. Bernard Project
St. Bernard Project (SBP) is an award-winning rebuilding, nonprofit organization whose mission is to remove physical, mental, and emotional barriers for vulnerable families, senior citizens, and disabled residents who are struggling to recover from the devastation and trauma caused by Hurricane Katrina and the Oil Spill. Since its inception, SBP has rebuilt more than 385 homes in the Greater New Orleans area and works on an average of 50 houses at any given time.
Why SBP Needs Our Help
Nearly 200 families are living in FEMA trailers and 10,000-20,000 families own a home they cannot afford to rebuild. SBP needs our help.
About Our Service Excursion
On Wednesday, February 15, 2012, from 9am-3pm, attendees of the 2012 Spiritual Living Convention will have the opportunity to travel to a location in the Greater New Orleans area that is in need of rebuilding, and participate in the St. Bernard Project’s Rebuilding Program.
The Rebuilding Program rebuilds homes for senior citizens, people with disabilities, and families with children who cannot afford to have their homes rebuilt by contractors. Rebuilding projects can take up to 12 weeks to accomplish, so we will be gifting our service for just a portion of a larger project already established.
Sign-Up for the St. Bernard Project Service Excursion when registering for the Convention.
